Wilberforce (In service 1973-1986)

‘I arrived a mere kitten in 1973 at Number 10 with all the enthusiasm of youth and left knowing that much of what I had done for my beloved country had set it on the right path’, wrote Wilberforce in his dictated, official, unpublished memoirs [ref: CAB 10/007 TOP SECRET ANNEX]

The memoirs have been barred from publication due in part, some say, to the confidential and sensitive material it discloses. Speculation continues to this day that it has as much to do with his duties at Downing Street as the number of Prime Ministers who he saw arrive and depart. Wilberforce was custodian of four Prime Minister’s: Edward Heath; Harold Wilson; Jim Callaghan and Margaret Thatcher.

By way of reward for service in the national interest, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher bought a can of sardines for Wilberforce in a Moscow supermarket. To this day, Mi6 refuse to comment on the circumstances behind Mrs. Thatcher’s reward.

This limited edition mug is made of Fine English Bone China, made and hand decorated in Longton, Stoke on Trent. It can be hand washed or washed in a dishwasher.
